Reports by GMA News have indicated that Telstra will open up about 326 call-center and customer service jobs here in the country. The telcom plans to expand its business by eliminating duplication. Determined to improve their quality of service, Telstra committed to investing about $188 million to remain atop the competition.
Rumors have surfaced before that the Australian telcom plans to compete with the Philippine market and eventually usurp leading local telcoms such as Globe, Smart, Sun, and PLDT. For a cheap price, the promise of Telstra is to provie fast and reliable internet speeds with the reason being that the Philippines ranks atop the countries with the slowest internet connection in Southeast Asia.
This would certainly be an interesting move for the Australian company as they decide to test the waters and challenge the market here in the country. It would also be good news for people who are looking for job opportunities in the field of call center.
